Answer:

The total number of parts 60 is divided is 2+3=5 . ... So the larger number is 60×35=36 and the smaller number is 60×25=24 . Their difference is 36−24=12 .

Required Answer :

The difference between these two parts = 12

Given :

  • Ratio of the two parts in which Rs. 60 is divided = 2 : 3

To find :

  • The difference between these two parts

Solution :

Let two parts be 2x and 3x.

where,

  • First part = 2x
  • Second part = 3x

According to the question,

⇒ First part + Second part = 60

⇒ 2x + 3x = 60

⇒ 5x = 60

⇒ x = 60/5

⇒ x = 12

⇒ The value of x = 12

Substituting the value of x :

FIRST PART :

⇒ First part = 2x

⇒ First part = 2(12)

First part = 24

SECOND PART :

⇒ Second part = 3x

⇒ Second part = 3(12)

Second part = 36

Calculating the difference between these two parts :

⇒ Second part - First part

⇒ 36 - 24

⇒ 12

Therefore, the difference between these two parts = 12
