Given :

  • Distance covered by the body is 20 m
  • Final velocity of the body is 4 m/s
  • Initial velocity of the body is 0 m/s

To find :

  • The acceleration of the body

Solution :

From Third equation of motion ,

 \boxed {\rm{v {}^{2}  -  {u}^{2} = 2as }}

Here ,

  • s is Distance covered by the body
  • v is Final velocity of the body
  • u is Initial velocity of the body
  • a is Acceleration of the body

 \sf \bigstar {\underline{ \sf{By \: substituting \: the \: values ,\: }}}

 :  \implies \rm \: ( 4 \: m {s}^{  - 1} ){}^{2}   - (0 ){}^{2}  = 2 (a)(20 \: m) \\  \\   : \implies \rm \: 16 \: m {}^{2}  {s}^{ - 2}  - 0 = 40 \: m(a) \\  \\  :  \implies \rm \: 16 \: m {s}^{ - 2}  = 40(a) \\  \\  :  \implies \rm \: a =  \frac{16 \: m {s}^{ - 2} }{40}  \\  \\  :  \implies \rm \: a = 0.4 \: m {s}^{ - 2}

Hence , The acceleration of the given body is 0.4 m/s²

From the equation of motion v^2=u^2+2as

v^2-u^2=2as

Given v=4m/s, u=0, s=20m

now,,,

4^2-0 = 2×a×20

16 =40×a

a =16/40

a =0.4 m/s^2
