Given equation is  x(t)=t3−4t2−5t

The velocity of a given object undergoing displacement as a function of time can be found by differentiating given equation of displacement with respect to time.

Hence

ddt(x(t))=ddt(t3−4t2−5t)

Which comes to  v(t)=3t2−8t−5

At the beginning implies at time  t=0   .

Substitute and find what the answer is. If answer found is negative, it just means that the equation is moving in the direction of the negative x-axis.
