Given :- If S.I is added to the sum after 12 years, then in how much time Rs. 4000 will become Rs. 8400 at 5% per annum. ?

Solution :-

given that, after 12 years SI is added in sum.

So, first we will find SI of 12 years..

→ P = Rs.4000

→ Rate = 5% per annum.

→ Time = 12 years.

→ SI = (P * R * T)/100

→ SI = (4000 * 5 * 12)/100

→ SI = Rs.2400

Now, SI is added in P.

So,

→ New P = 4000 + 2400 = Rs.6400.

→ Amount need = Rs.8400.

than,

→ SI needed = 8400 - 6400 = Rs.2000

→ rate = 5% per annum.

→ Time = Let T years.

therefore,

→ T = (SI * 100) / (P * R)

→ T = (2000 * 100) / (6400 * 5)

→ T = (25/4) = 6 years 3 months.

Hence,

Total time Required = 12years + (6 years , 3 months) = 18 years, 3 months (Ans.)
