If you remove the hypothesis,  the age of S is 20 years.

From the information given in the question, let ages be considered as S for person ‘S’ and J for person ‘J’.

Therefore, S x 2= j+40. Kr S= j+40/2.

Also, S-j= 10, or S=j+10. Correlating the two values of S we get, J= 40-20, or J= 20.

Therefore age of J is 20 years, and age of S is 30 years
