Salary of Ram = 25% more than Shyam

Let the salary of Shyam = Rs. 100

Then, salary of Ram = 100* 25/100 + 100 = 25+100 = 125 Rs.

To find: By what % Shyam's salary is less than Ram's ?

Required % = Salary difference/Ram's salary * 100

                   = 125-100/125 * 100 = 25/125 * 100 = 20%

Hence, the required answer = 20%

                   Method II

25% = 25/100 = 1/4

Shyam: 4 parts ==== Ram(25% more):5 parts      [25% of '4' = 1]

TO find: By how much % 4 is less than 5

= 5-4/5 * 100 = 1/5 * 100 = 20%

              Method III

By what % less = Given %/(100+given%)  * 100 = 25/(100+25) * 100 = 20%
