If salt and sugar do not appear to have a fixed shape then why do we call them solid

Sugar and salts are considered solids because though they only appear to take the shape of the container when stored in bulk. The shape of each crystal of sugar or salt does not change irrespective of the container they are kept in.


Thus they justify the property of fixed shape and size and are true solids.
