Hi ,
It is given that ,
secA - tanA = m ----( 1 )
We know that,
sec² A - tan² A = 1
( secA - tanA )( secA + tanA ) = 1
m ( sec A + tanA ) = 1
secA + tanA = 1/m ------( 2 )
subtract ( 1 ) from ( 2 ) , we get
2tanA = 1/m - m
2tanA = ( 1 - m² )/m
Therefore ,
tanA = ( 1 - m² )/2m
I hope this helps you.
