Step-by-step explanation:

Sec alpha + tan alpha =x

We know that Sec^2 alpha -,tan^2 alpha=1)

then sec alpha - tan alpha = 1/x

adding above two equations

we get

2 sec alpha = x + 1/x

=( x^2 +1)/x

So , Sec alpha= (x^2 + 1 ) / 2x
