Question

if sec∅+tan∅=1/3 then sec∅=?

Solution

Given :-

  • sec∅+tan∅=1/3 ---------(1)

Find :-

  • Value of sec∅

Explanation

Using Formula

sec² - tan² = 1 ---------(2)

( a² - b²) = (a-b)(a+b)

So,by equ(2)

➩ (sec∅ + tan∅) (sec∅ - tan∅) = 1

Keep Value by equ(1)

➩ ( sec∅ - tan∅) * 1/3 = 1

➩ ( sec∅ - tan∅) = 3 ----------(3)

Add equ(1) & equ(3)

➩ 2 sec∅ = 1/3 + 3

➩ 2sec∅ = (1+9)/3

➩ 2sec∅ = 10/(3 * 2)

➩ sec∅ = 5/3

Keep Valu in equ(1)

➩ 5/3 + tan∅=1/3

➩ tan∅ = 1/3 - 5/3

➩ tan∅ = (1-5)/3

➩ tan∅ = -4/3

Hence

  • Value of sec∅ = 5/3
