 \dfrac{1}{x}

Given:

sec + tan = x

To Find:

sec - tan

How to find ?

You just get the answer by using Trigonometry Identity.

sec² - tan² = 1

Solution:

 { \sec }^{2}  -  { \tan }^{2}  = 1 \\ ( \sec  + \tan )( \sec -  \tan) = 1 \\x ( \sec -  \tan) = 1 \\   \boxed{\sec \:  - \tan =  \frac{1}{x}}

Therefore the required value of sec - tan = 1/x.
