Solution: sec∅ + tan∅ = x __(i)
→ sec²∅ - tan²∅ = 1 [As we know it's Identity]
On using a² - b² = (a + b)(a - b) we get,
→ (sec∅ + tan∅)(sec∅ - tan∅) = 1
→ x(sec∅ - tan∅) = 1
→ sec∅ - tan∅ = 1/x __(ii)
On doing (i) - (ii) we get,
→ 2 tan∅ = x - 1/x
→ tan∅ = (x² - 1)/2x
Answer is (x² - 1)/2x
