GIVEN :

  • Secθ + Tanθ = x

TO FIND :

  • Secθ - Tanθ IN TERMS OF x

SOLUTION:

Secθ + Tanθ = x ------(1)

WE KNOW THAT Sec^(2) θ - Tan^2 θ = 1

=> (secθ + Tanθ )(Secθ - Tanθ) = 1

=> Secθ - Tanθ (x) = 1 [ FROM EQ(1) ]

=> Secθ - Tanθ = 1/x

HOPE IT HELPS !!!!
