Answer:

1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

Sec²theta - tan²theta = 1

(Sec theta - tan theta) (sec theta + tan theta)

( sec theta - tan theta) (4) = 1

( sec theta - tan theta) = 1/4

Given : secθ +  tanθ  =  4

To Find :  Value of secθ -  tanθ

Solution:

Let say  secθ -  tanθ = n

secθ +  tanθ  =  4

multiplying both )

=> (secθ + tanθ)(secθ - tanθ) = 4 n

=>   (sec²θ - tan²θ)  = 4 n

sec²θ - tan²θ = 1

=>  1 =  4 n

=>n = 1/4

 secθ -  tanθ =  1/4
