Given :-

secθ+tanθ=P

....(1)

we know

sec2θ−tan2θ=1

........(2)

Dividing (2) by (1) we get

secθ−tanθ=1/P

....(3)

Now adding (1) and (3) we have

2secθ=P+1/P=P2+1/P

⇒secθ=P2+1/2P

⇒cosθ=2P/ P2+1

Answer:

k=-1

Step-by-step explanation:

y2=x2+k

tan^2 theta= sec^2 theta+k

tan^2 theta-sec^2 theta=k

k=-1
