Given :  secθ + tanθ = p

To Find : Value of 1/p

Solution:

Using identity

sec²θ = 1 +  tan²θ

=>   sec²θ-  tan²θ = 1

using a² - b²  = (a + b) (a - b)

=> (secθ + tanθ)(secθ -  tanθ) = 1

=> p (secθ -  tanθ) = 1

=> secθ -  tanθ= 1/p

Hence Value of 1/p  is   secθ -  tanθ
