Answer:

sec x + tan x = p

Now, we know that

sin^{2}(x)+cos^{2}(x)=1\\

Dividing throughout by cos^2 x

We get the identity

sec^2 x - tan^2 x = 1

(sec x- tan x)(secx+tanx)=1

So,

(sec x - tan x)=1/p

Hope this helps you !
