Given Equation is secA + tanA = 2.

We know that sec^2A - tan^2A = 1

We know that a^2 - b^2 = (a + b)(a - b)

⇒ (secA + tanA)(secA - tanA) = 1

⇒ (2)(secA - tanA) = 1

secA - tanA = 1/2.

Hope it helps!
