if separation between two particles is doubled, the gravitational force between the particles becomes half the initial force.

state whether it is true or false with explaination.

Using the Universal Gravitational Equation:

Fgrav = m1 * m2 / d^2

m = mass of objects
d = distance between them

…then regardless of the objects relative densities, every time you double the distance, you quarter the gravitational force. This obviously assumes a vacuum as well.

To test, consider:

m1:m2=10, d=10: 100/100 = 1
m1:m2=10, d=20: 100/400 = .25
m1:m2=10, d=40: 100/1600 = .0625
m1=5, m2=10, d=10: 50/100 = .5
m1=5, m2=10, d=20: 50/400 = .125
m1=5, m2=10, d=40: 50/1600 = .03125
…as you can see, every time the distance is doubled, the gravitational force is quartered.

nope..... this statement is false...... the gravitational force will become 1/4th of initial value as
F=Gm1m2/r^2

fill distance will be doubled then take 4r^2 instead of r^2
here it is, the value became 1/4th

hope u gotcha
