If setting off nukes creates "nuclear winters", why don't we set off a few nukes to offset global warming?

Nuclear winter is not a literal term because nuclear weapons don't lower the temperature instead they increase the temperature by exploding and then maintain it by continously emitting high amounts of nuclear radiations so setting of nukes would not stop global warming in fact it'd raise it and it's already one of the primary cause of it

Winter in nuclear winter refers to the silence caused by nuclear weapons which is similar to the silence caused by a cold winter because in both the cases people are hiding inside their homes

Answer:

Such actions will be catastrophic. Nuclear Winter is the winter like cold climatic condition which can follow a nuclear war due to the sky being covered by an enormous amount of dust particles containing carbon and ash. This will not allow the rays the Sun to fall on the Earth and all life will be destroyed by this winter.
