so , lateral surface area of cube = 4a^2

= 4 × ( 2 ) ^2 = 4×4 = 16cm^2

let the side of other cube = 4 cm

lateral surface area of cube = 4 × ( 4) ^2

= 4 × 16 = 64 cm ^2

so , the surface area increase = 64 / 16

= 4

so the surface area of cube increase 4 times

volume of first cube = a ^3

= ( 2) ^3 = 8 cm ^3

volume of other cube = ( 4 ) ^ 3 = 64 cm ^3

volume of cube increase = 64 / 8 = 8

so, the volume of cube increase 8 times .
