12 is the side of the square.

Given :

The side of the square is tripled

To find :

Side of the new square

Solution :

Since the side of the square is tripled its initial side,

Let a be the initial side of the square

After tripling, it becomes 3a.

By formula, Perimeter of the square = 4a

The new perimeter becomes = 4 \times 3 a = 12a

Hence the side of the new square = 12.
