Sin theeta = 1/3 = perpendicular/hypotenuse

Base = hypotenuse^2 - perpendicular^2

Base = √8

Base = 2√2

Cot theeta = base/perpendicular

= 2√2/1

= 2√2

2 cot^2 theeta = 2 * (2√2)^2

= 16

Now

2 cot^2 theeta + 2 = 16 + 2

= 18
