  • Sin θ = Perpendicular / Hypotenuse
  • Cos θ = Base / Hypotenuse

Solution:-

Let the p and h be 15k and 17k

In ∆ABC

By Pythagorean Theorem

AB = √{(AC)² - (BC)²}

= √{(17k)² - (BC)²}

= √{289k² - 225k²}

= √{64k²}

= 8k

Cos θ = AB/AC

= 8k/17k

= 8 / 17
