Now both sin x and cos x are +ve in. I quadrant only. The required solution: x=18°.

The given question is

Sin 2x = cos 3x

writing cos x in terms of sin x

We get,

Sin 2x = Sin (90–3x)

On equating

We get,

2x = 90–3x

5x = pi/2

Now both sin x and cos x are +ve in. I quadrant only.

Hence x is 2npi + 18
