If sin a = 1/3, then find the value of

if sina = 1/3 then from the equation we can conclude that
perpendicular = 1
hypotenuse = 3

then base, by phythagoras theorem,

3^2 = 1^2 + base^2
base^2 = 8
base = 2×root (2)

the we know cota = base/perpendicular
so cota = 2×root (2)/1
so cot^2a = 8

calculating given equation by plugging in the values

2×8 + 2 = 18 which is the required answer
