QUESTION :

  • if sin A = 3/5 , then find the value of cos A.

ANSWER :

  • cos A = 4/5

SOLUTION :

sin A = 3/5 = perpendicular/hypotnuse

By phytagoras therom,

(Hypotenuse)^2 = (perpendicular)^2 + (base)^2

(base)^2 = (perpendicular)^2 - (Hypotenuse)^2

(base) =

√ (perpendicular)^2 - (Hypotenuse)^2

(base) = √ 5^2 - 3^2

(base) = √ 25 - 9

(base) = √ 16

(base) = 4

cos A = base/hypotenuse = 4/5...
