 sinx \: + {sin}^{2} x = 1 \\ = > \: sinx = 1 - {sin}^{2} x \\ = > sinx = {cos}^{2} x \\ \binom{ {sin}^{2} x + {cos}^{2}x = 1 }{ = > 1 - {sin}^{2}x = {cos}^{2} x } \\ = > {sin}^{2} x = { ({cos}^{2}x) }^{2} = {cos}^{4} x \\ \\ hence \\ {cos}^{2} x + {cos}^{4} x = sinx + {sin}^{2} x = 1
