Let sina+cosa=x...... (1) Given Sina-cosa =1/2..... (2) Squaring both side and add equation 1&2 (Sina+cosa)^2+(sina-cosa)^2=(1/2)^2+x^2 Sin^2a+cos ^2+2sina ×cosa +sin^2a+cos^2a-2sina ×cosa= 1/4+x^2asinaaa Or 1+1=1/4+x^2 X^2= 7/4 X=root 7 by 2 Hence the value of sina+cosa=root 7 by 2
