 \sin(x) + \cos(x) = 2
 {( \sin(x) + \cos(x) ) }^{2} = {2}^{2}
 { \sin {}^{2} (x) } + \cos{}^{2}(x) + 2 \sin(x )\cos(x) ) = 4
1 + 2 \sin(x) \cos(x) = 4
2 \sin(x) \cos(x) = 3
 \sin(x) \cos(x) = \frac{3}{2}
Now,
 \tan(x) + \cot(x) = \frac{ \sin(x) }{ \cos(x) } + \frac{ \cos(x) }{ \sin(x) }
 = \frac{ { \sin }^{2}(x) + { \cos }^{2}(x) }{ \sin(x) \cos(x) }
 = \frac{1}{ \frac{3}{2} }
 = \frac{2}{3}
