 \frac{1}{ \sqrt{2} } sin \:  \alpha  +  \frac{1}{ \sqrt{2} } cos \:  \alpha  = 1

sin \:  \alpha  \: cos45 + cos \alpha  \: sin45 = 1

 \sin( \alpha  + 45)  = 1 =  \sin(90)

 \alpha  + 45 = 90

 \alpha  = 45
