Acccording to question

sin∅+sin^2∅=1

sin∅=1-sin^2∅

sin∅=cos^2∅

sin^2∅=cos^4∅....i)

now,

put this in cos^2∅+cos^4∅

cos^2∅+(cos^4∅)=cos^2∅+sin^2∅..(putting cos^4∅=sin^2∅ from i)

now,

cos^2∅+sin^2∅=1

Hence proved

{hope it helps}
