Let theta=x
sinx+cosx=√2
squaring both side..
sin²x+cos²x+2sinxcosx=(√2)²
1+2sinxcosx=2
sinxcosx=1/2. ____(i)
Now ,
tanx+cotx=sinx/cosx + cosx/sinx
=(sin²x+cos²x)/sinxcosx
=1/(1/2) = 2 (from eq (i))
