sin²x + cos²x = 1

cos²x = 1-sin²x

cos²x = 1- 9/25 = (25-9)/25 = 16/25

cosx = 4/5 -----> secx = 5/4

Therefore,

sec²x = 25/16

tanx = sinx/cosx = 3/4 ----> tan²x = 9/16

sec²x + tan²x = 25/16 +9/16 = 34/16 = 17/8
