Given:-

  • Sinθ = 2/5
  • Cosθ = 4/5

To Find:-

  • The value of (Sin^2θ + Cos^2θ)

Concept:-

Firstly we have to understand the concept.We have to find the value of(Sin^2θ + Cos^2θ).The values of sin and cos are given,we should sqaure it and then find the value by substituting and equating it.

Solution:-

Sinθ = 2/5

Cosθ = 4/5

(Sin^2θ + Cos^2θ) = ??

\implies\large\sf{sin^{2}\theta \:  +  \: cos^{2}\theta}

\implies\large\sf{(\frac{2}{5})^{2} \:  +  \:  (\frac{4}{5})^{2}}

\implies\large\sf{(\frac{4}{25}) \:  +  \:  (\frac{16}{25})}

\implies\large\sf{(\frac{4}{25}) \:  +  \:  (\frac{16}{25}) \:  =  \:  \frac{20}{25}}

\implies\large\sf{(\frac{4}{25}) \:  +  \:  (\frac{16}{25}) \:  =  \:  \frac{20}{25} \:  =  \:  \frac{4}{5} }

\implies\large\sf{(sin^{2}\theta \:  +  \: cos^{2}\theta)} \:  =  \:  \frac{4}{5}

\bullet \:\large\sf{sin^{2}\theta \:  +  \: cos^{2}\theta} \:  =  \:  \frac{4}{5}
