ANSWER

GIVEN : SIN THETA + SIN²THETA = 1

TO PROVE :  COS²THETA + COS^4  THETA = 1

PROOF :

  • SIN THETA + SIN^2 THETA = 1 -----------------(1)
  • COS^2 THETA + SIN^2 THETA = 1-----------------(2)
  • FROM (1) AND (2)
  • SIN THETA = COS^2 THETA --------------------(3)
  • THEREFORE , SIN^2 THETA = COS^4 THETA-------------------(4)
  • COS^2 THETA + COS^4 = 1
