sharu60: can you just explain how the thita is in minus
Rohith59: thita isminus because thita lies in the setcond quadrand in second quardtant cos thita is minus
sharu60: how does it loes in the second quadrant
Rohith59: because sin thita is positive in first quardrant but in the question thita does not lie in the first quardrant hence sin thita is positive ehen thita is in second quardrant
Rohith59: in the question they given sin thita is positive
sharu60: ok i have corrected it so that no one gets confuse
Rohith59: thanks
sharu60: ur most welcome

sin thita =perpendicular/hypotenuse
= 4x/5x
=4/5
p=4;h=5
let AB=perpendicular ; BC=base ; AC=hypotenuse
by Pythagoras theorem

 bc= \sqrt{ac {}^{2} - ab {}^{2} }
 \: \: = \sqrt{5 {}^{2} - 4 {}^{2} }
 \: \: = \ \sqrt{25 - 16}
 = \sqrt{9}
 = 3
we get ac=hypotenuse=5
bc=base=3
ab=perpendicular=4
cos thita = base/hypotenuse
=3/5
thita belongs to the second quadrant

sharu60: nagpur
sharu60: and u
sharu60: ok
sharu60: done
