Answer:

sin 2A + COS 2A = 1

cos 2A = 1 - sin 2

= root 1 - (a/b)2

= root 1-a2/b2

= root b2- a2/b2

cos A root b2-a2/b

sinθ = a / b

Therefore ,

cosθ = √ ( 1 - sin²θ )

= √ { 1 - a² / b² }

= √ { ( b² - a² ) / b² }

= √( b² - a² ) / b. [ • Required answer ]
