★ We have,

sin x + cos y = 1 ....→(1)

And

sin x - cos y = 0 ....→(2)

Now,

Using the method of elimination, adding (1) and (2), we get,

sin x + cos y + (sin x - cos y) = 1 + 0

⇒sin x + cos y + sin x - cos y = 1

⇒2sin x = 1

⇒sin x = 1/2

⇒sin x = sin 30°

x = 30°
