given, sin² - sin -2 = 0

=> sin( sin -1 ) -2 = 0

=> sin -1 = 2/sin => sin = 2/sin +1

=> sin = (2 +sin) /sin => 2 +sin = sin/sin

=> sin = 1-2

therefore, sin = -1
