sin = 3/5

let,

sin = opposite side/Hypotenuse = 3/5

AC = 5, BC = 3, AB = ?

Now,

According to PHYTHAGAROUS THEROM,

(Hypotenuse)² = (side)² + (side)²

(AC)² = (AB)²+(BC)²

(5)² = (AB)² + (3)²

25 = (AB)² + 9

25 - 9 = (AB)²

16 = (AB)²

√16 = AB

√4×4 = AB

4 = AB

:. AB = 4 units.

Now consider,

cos = adjacent side/hypotenuse = AB/AC = 4/5.
