Given :—
 \sin(a) = 1

To find :—
 \cos(a)

Identity used :—
 \boxed{ { \sin }^{2} (a) + { \cos }^{2}(a) = 1 }

Calculations :—
 \quad \bf{ cos(a) } \red{ \leftarrow \bf question} \\ \\ = \sqrt{1 - { \sin}^{2} (a)} \\ \\ = \sqrt{1 - { \left[ \sin(a) \right] }^{2} } \\ \\ = \sqrt{1 - {(1)}^{2} } \\ \\ = \sqrt{1 - 1} \\ \\ = \sqrt{0} \\ \\ = \bf \quad 0 \red{ \longleftarrow} \green{ \bf answer}

Conclusion :—
 \underline{ \boxed{ \quad \cos(a) = 0 \quad}}
