If six men and 10 women do one job in 12 days, how many days will three men and women do the same job?​

6*12=72 days it would take men to finish the job

10*12=120 days it would take women to finish the job

100% / 72 = percent of the work one man can do in one day

1.3888… % per man per day

100% / 120 = percent of the work a woman can do in one day

8333… % per woman per day

(Men’s % multipled by number of men + women’s % multiples by number of women) all multiplied by days needed to complete the job = 100% or 1

[(1.388…% * 3)+(.833…%*5)] * X = 100%

[4.166...%+4.166…%] * X = 100%

8.333…% *X = 100%

X = 100/8.333…

X = 12

its a lot more complicated than it needs to be for this particular equation but it will work better.
