If small bits of paper are placed on a drum,why do they jump when the drum is stuck.

When a drum is struck then the membrane vibrates and thus the whole region starts vibrating. The small bits of paper that are placed on the drum also vibrates as they are in contact with the vibrating membrane

they jump bcs when we stuck the drum vibration is produced on it so when u will stuck the drum vibration will be produced and as the paper r very light and so the pieces jump....
