If some metals and non metals are exceptions to there properties ( like diamond is hardest non metal) then why don't scientist classify them as metalloids ( with both properties of moral and non metals)???

actually this classification of metal and non metal is done on the basis of chemical properties,not physical. these are exceptions only in physical behaviour and nothing else.
the property talked here shows its physical bahaviour only ,not the chemical behaviour
