Well making people happy is one of the most difficult task out there. Every person is unique and they have their own sets of emotion.
The trigger to happiness is different for different people. Well if you've hurt someone then best way would be to apologize but by not using 'sorry'.
Well u should minimise the use of word 'sorry'. Preserve this word for disastrous situations, instead of that use regret. For example, if you hurt someone then instead of saying I'm sorry, try saying I regret hurting you, well this may sound quite normal but it prevents you from being monotonous and melancholy.
