If sound travels faster in solids than why cant we hear the sound clearly when someone shouts from another room ??
it should also pass from the wall?

Dear....sound travels faster in or through solids if we shout from another room lot of sound is absorbed in the way only........the wall absorbs a lot of the sound’s energy, especially high-frequency sound-waves which are important for intelligibility of speech. So although it reaches you quickly, a lot of information was lost in transmission: the energy-patterns transmitting that information were turned into a very small amount of heat, by the wall. Result: the speech is much quieter, and muffled.

Sound travels faster in solids but in case when someone shouts from another room, the sound is reflected back by the wall as echo.
