Answer:

let cp of 1 chair be x

the cp of 20 chair is 20x

and cp of 21 chair is 21x

a/q. sp of 20 chairs =cp of 21 chair

sp of 20 chairs =21x

so, gain , spis greater than cp

of 21x-20x=x

gain %=x/20x*100=5%

\large\sf\underline{Given:}

  • SP of 20 chairs and CP of 21 chairs are same .

\large\sf\underline{To\:find:}

  • Profit percentage = ??

\large\sf\underline{Assumption:}

  • Let the CP be x .

\large\sf\underline{Solution:}

As the CP of 1 chair is x .

So the cost price of 21 chair will be 21x

According to the question :

SP of 20 chairs = CP of 21 chairs

\sf\:∴\:SP\:of\:20\:chairs=21x

\sf\:SP\:of\:1\:chair=\frac{21x}{20}

We know ,

\large\rm\purple\star\:\underline{Profit=SP-CP}

Substituting the value in the formula :

\sf➞\:Profit=\frac{21x}{20}-x

\sf➞\:Profit=\frac{21x-20x}{20}

\sf➞\:Profit=\frac{x}{20}

And we also know ,

\large\rm\purple\star\:\underline{Profit\: percentage=[\frac{Profit}{CP}]×100}

Substituting the value in the formula :

\sf➻\: Profit\: Percentage=\frac{ \frac{x}{20} }{x}×100

\sf➻\: Profit\: Percentage=\frac{x}{20}× \frac{1}{x} ×100

\sf➻\: Profit\: Percentage=\frac{1}{20} ×100

\sf➻\: Profit\: Percentage=\frac{100}{20}

\sf➻\: Profit\: Percentage=\frac{10}{2}

\small\fbox\red{➠\:Profit\: Percentage\:=\:5\:percent}

!! Hope it helps !!
