If [star] × 2 = [square], then [star] × 8 will equal to 4[square].

Solution,

Since,

[star] × 2 = [square]

  • Multiplication sign in the left-hand side of the equation will go to Right Hand Side of the equation and hence we will get,

        [star] = [square]/2

  • Now we have to find,

        [star] × 8

  • Substituting the value of [star] =  [square]/2 we get,

        [square]/2 × 8 =  [square]/4.

Hence, [star] × 8 will equal to [square]/4.

[star] × 8 = [square] × 4  if  [star] × 2 = [square]

★  × 8  = ▢ × 4 if ★  × 2 = ▢

Given:

  • [star] × 2 = [square]
  • ★  × 2 = ▢

To Find:

  • [star] × 8
  • ★  × 8

Solution

★  × 2 = ▢

Step 1:

Multiply both sides by 4

[star] × 2 = [square] × 4

★  × 2 × 4  = ▢ × 4

Step 2:

Calculate 2 × 4

[star] × 8 = [square] × 4

★  × 8  = ▢ × 4

Hence ★  × 8  = ▢ × 4

[star] × 8 = [square] × 4
