If Crane was alive today, he still would have problems that he immortalized in the nineteenth century. Though he was able to establish himself as a writer in 1895 after the publication of The Red Badge of Courage, he was not contented with the writing work without any challenge. So, he joined Bacheller Johnson Syndicate as a war correspondent and cover conflict between Cube and Spain. In the year 1897, he was sent by New York Journal to cover the conflict between Greece and Turkey. In 1898 he worked for World and was sent as a war correspondent again and cover American Spanish War. He also reported on a conflict with Puerto Rico. As a war correspondent he immortalized the problems that arose between nations. Had be been alive, we can surely say that he would have had lot many instances like the past. The passage of time between nineteenth to twenty first century, though has seen tremendous change in different aspects of life, at the time has complicated life at different fronts. The list of conflicts is too long and too depressing. The list is long. On the one hand there are civil wars in the countries like Algeria and Columbia; on the other hand al-Quaida War and ISIS war have deteriorated the peace of the world. Afghanistan War, Iraq War, Israel Palestinian War, Chad Rebellion, Indo-Pakistan Conflict and so many others tell a sad tale which verify that Stephen Crane would have the problems rather multi-folded in this twenty first century.
